3 tips for maximising kitchen space
Considering a new kitchen design for 2025?
Since the 1960s the average kitchen size in the UK has shrunk from 15.37m² to 13.44 m² in 2010 - a trend expected to continue. It’s never been more important to plan your kitchen space to make the most of it.
Here are my top tips for maximising space in your new kitchen…
If you’re doing a house renovation project, design the kitchen right at the start: this is essential to the plumbing and electrics first-fix, otherwise you’ll end up losing valuable space to cables and pipes if these are run behind the cabinets and not put into the walls.
Use drawers not cupboards! The initial costs of drawers might be more, but the amount of usable space you’ll gain will pay off quickly. Space organising products can divide and organise your drawer space - who doesn’t love an organised kitchen!
Create a feeling of space with open shelves instead of overhead cabinets. Fitting LED light strips to shelves make them a real feature and will bring light into darker kitchens.
